Sounds like you are dealing with a relearn procedure. I've not used Techstream but the Mastertech provided the relearn on most vehicles. Also, this may be prevented by de-carboning the throttle plate (best to do a complete induction service).

Toyota's do not have a idle relearn procedure that require a scantool. I agree. anytime you flash any vehicle, a throttle plate cleaning should be included.

A month later, I respond.... I agree. Clean the throttle blade when flashing. This seems to be common with many vehicle lines.

Hi I have a Carmen Lite and have tried reading the systems on a Toyota L/cruiser HJ and Dyna 15B-FTE both fitted with the Denso V4 version of pumps. No luck on both occasions. Just says 'unable to communicate'. Both vehicles are listed in the scan tool. Does this maybe require softawre updating?
